Patch on Paper......

Happy Sunday evening,

Keeping things clean for a few days (in the literal sense) because I'm doing some

more quilt making.

So today I have combined patch and paper.....

You might recognise the fabrics from the rabbit quilt. I cut the apple core shapes

using a teeny tiny deep dish die by Tattered Lace.

They make a lovely background for this little flower girl.

A Bit of Zen the Easy Way......

Good Evening Everybody,

Tonight we have a bit of ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) , done the easy way......

 with die-cut shapes in black on white, enclosed in a Tattered Lace heart shaped frame.

I like that version, but less is more only when......can't remember the rest.

Anyway, I added more......

....and I like this too.

Off now to watch Strictly!   P.

A Scrapbook Page.....something different for me...

Good evening All,

Now that I am doing a bit on the design team for Tattered Lace, I get to play

with a few different ideas. It appears to be Christmas in the crafting world at

the moment! I really can't get my head round it in July.

Managed something with a great deal of effort......but not able to blog that

at the moment. However.....

I also made a scrapbook page, featuring the love of my life of course!

It was sunny and warm outside (for a change) so I chose these sunny Summer

colours and some starry Tattered Lace dies to showcase a real star :)

Managing to tick off quite a few things on my "must finish" list in the last couple of

weeks. Clearing the decks before my holidays.

Back to the list now, back soon, P.

A Brief Paper Moment....in a Sea of Aprons....

Hello All,

I am pleased to report that all costumes and aprons are now complete!

(Phew!)

All delivered and a weekend of clearing up. So what next?

Need to finish an exhibition piece of embroidery by two weeks, but not

able to blog that at present as all will be revealed later. It's for a Chinese Whispers

project......each person takes inspiration only from the previous person's work so the

original idea gets changed each time......like the game we oldies used to play at

Brownies?

I did make time last week for this sample piece with the latest designs from Tattered Lace.

Unfortunately I forgot to photograph the other two :/

Anyway, back to squinting at some very small beads......oh for some miracle spectacles!

Behind the Scenes....

Hello All,

This week it has been a choice between doing and blogging.....

The show at Ally Pally last week was great, despite my first real attack

of nerves pre demo for a while! But thanks to all the interested and lovely

chatty visitors to the PaperArtsy stand, I soon managed to pull myself back

together :) so thank you!

Then after a lovely afternoon with number two daughter in Hyde Park, and an

annoyingly delayed flight back, it was back to home and work.

Sometimes, behind the scenes, I am actually making things, but they might be for

future release, take a long time, or just not interesting enough to blog about!

Anyway, today I was experimenting with a new fabric stabiliser called Terial Magic,

and some dies by Tattered Lace.

The Terial Magic is sprayed on the fabric, semi dried, and ironed, giving it a papery

quality so that it is easier to die cut.

Apparently it washes out for sewing projects.....will have to try that out.....lots of

possibilities......

Simple Die Cut Applique......

Hello All,

Some projects take a little bit longer than others.....usually the sewing

ones. I use die cutting for paper projects ( I like the delicacy of paper

cuts) but I have been trying out a few cutting dies with fabric for a

bit of a change.

This time I used a few Tattered Lace fabric dies, firstly for this really simple

mini cushion (it's only about 4 ins square). Felt is great, it does not fray and it cuts

well. Such pretty colours too!

The second is this really simple bonded applique cushion, with easy straight machine

stitching.

Just thought I would mention a "top tip" here: if you want to stitch a particular

shape and don't want to risk drawing on your fabric, cut the shape out in freezer

paper (I die cut this circle too!), iron it on and use it as a template to stitch round.

Then you can peel it off and not have to worry about any marks :)

Simple but it works.

Back on Saturday with a rather crazy PaperArtsy project.....
