Hello and welcome to day 5,
The sewing machine is still out....stitching rabbits.......so took a moment to stitch
a quick doodle, on paper!
For this I dropped the feed dogs on the machine and changed to a free motion foot.
The problem with machining on paper is that it's SO slippery and hard to control. I
had the idea to layer a piece of tear away stabiliser to the back, for a bit more grip.
I need some lessons with coloured pencils.....any good You Tubes out there?
Love the effect though :)
Back to the rabbits......P.

Stencil-tangle......
Good evening and welcome,
Zentangle in its true form is a relaxing meditation, concentrating on the small
steps in creating a piece of art, without any worry about the end result.
This is another stress free way of doodle drawing.....using stencils. I have made a few
these in earlier blog posts, and demonstrated the technique at Ally Pally on the
PaperArtsy stand, but this is a mini version....
.......using a tiny brass embossing stencil.
It takes the hard work out of drawing but leaves enough scope for the imagination.
Just fill in the shapes with repeating patterns in Zentangle style, and add a little
watercolour with a fine brush.
Sometimes it is the doing that's the important bit :)
Back again tomorrow, P.

A Bit of Zen the Easy Way......
Good Evening Everybody,
Tonight we have a bit of ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) , done the easy way......
with die-cut shapes in black on white, enclosed in a Tattered Lace heart shaped frame.
I like that version, but less is more only when......can't remember the rest.
Anyway, I added more......
....and I like this too.
Off now to watch Strictly! P.

All of a Twitter......
Hello All,
Yesterday was a bit grey at times, but still necessary walkies.
And this was a quick snap. Oystercatchers.....they make a sort of "peeping" noise and scuttle
about at the water's edge.
This is my interpretation of the scene
I started with a bit of texture (gesso and a palette knife)
The colour is Infusions powder (PaperArtsy), spritzed and washed across the page.
It sits between all the lumpy bits....
I overworked the birds as usual......much prefer the little spontaneous pencil versions.....
Sunny today! P.
