Groovi for Men......

Hello and a happy sunny afternoon!

What was that big warm yellow round thing in the sky? I think it was actually the sun!

It seems to have been so long that I have almost forgotten. SO lovely.

If you are familiar with the "Groovi" parchment craft system, you my know that they run

a monthly challenge on facebook. This time "its a man's world". I don't make cards for men,

(husband gets a bought one if I'm feeling extra generous and actually remember).

So it was a bit of a trial......but I like it now.

If you've not seen "Groovi" then look it up.....good relaxing fun.

Was looking forward to a creative weekend....now painting windowsills :(

Might allow myself the evening off (if I can reclaim my slippers).

Bye for now, P.

From the Scrap Bag......

Good Evening,

Welcome back to my blog :)

Whilst cleaning under the bed today, I came across the scrap bag. It has hidden there

for quite some time....probably years actually. I used to do a lot of machine applique

but not recently....not sure why but.....

I also realised that I have never actually tried out most of the fancy stitches on my

machine. So this is what happened

Just a random thing, from the scrap bag.

It's actually the sort of thing I see every day

So not too difficult to improvise. And the fancy stitches on my machine do work.

The scrap bag.....back under the bed for now.

Thank you for looking, P.

The Dark Winter "Can't be Bothereds"......

Hello All and welcome!

I must begin by apologising for the long absence......a combination of two failed house

sales, continued daily employment at the hospital, and a severe case of the dark winter

"can't be bothereds"!

It's the lack of daylight.

However......it's getting better! The daylight is getting longer, and I start to feel able to

move the dog off my knee (such a good hot water bottle substitute) and ease my way

back into creating with a few small projects.

Still things I can do on a tray in a warm room ......but it's a start.

Parchment art is something I'm trying to master, I really admire some of the really good

parchment artists out there, who have far more patience then I have. The Groovi Plate

system from Clarity Stamps has given me the courage to have a go. I just need a good

daylight lamp to fix to my tray to help the old eyesight!

Another armchair project that I seem to return to when I need comfort in times of stress,

or just tiredness, is hexagon patchwork.....

Easy, pretty and relaxingly repetitive :)

And I have a cutting die so I no longer have to draw out the hexagons.....yay!

So watch this space....my poor neglected blog is back on the road.

Bye for now, P.
